The Travel Sweater
The Travel Sweater
The Travel Sweater is a drop-shoulder construction sweater, worked from the top-down. Suri or Mohair held together with the DK weight main yarn add a bit of comfy-coziness and subtle texture to the upper body. The Travel Sweater features a double thickness collar and (two-color) Fisherman’s Rib cuffs and is adorned with special details such as a lateral braid and a simple cable at the top of the sleeves.
The Travel Sweater is written for two body length options: Cropped or Standard. The Cropped-length body incorporates a slight waist shaping, while the Standard-length body is straight. The Standard-length body also includes an option for a double thickness Hem, to match the Collar.
The idea behind this design was to create an updated wardrobe staple piece, easy to effortlessly pair with many items in your closet. I loved the concept of one sweater with three different looks as something I would pack when I am traveling for a long weekend getaway. When photographing this design, I chose to style The Travel Sweater with a pair of linen coveralls, a linen dress over leggings and a comfy pair of slouchy jeans.
This is an Advanced Beginner or Intermediate level pattern.
